The delivery of a total quality care for the high-risk pregnant mothers and their neonates by a team of motivated and knowledgeable personnel and maintenance of highest standards in the practice of Perinatology by fostering as a referral center for high-risk pregnant mothers and a training ground in the subspecialty of Perinatal Anesthesiology has been the goals of the Perinatal Center.

TRAINING

Perinatal Anesthesiology is a two-year fellowship training program and was established in 2007. The main objective of the program is to prepare a fellow for a career in Perinatal Anesthesiology and be a prospective trainor in the field of Obstetrical Anesthesiology through clinical and research experiences, and with such exposure stimulate his/her interest and develop his/her expertise in the anesthetic care of high-risk pregnancies.

ELIGIBILITY

ELIGIBILITY

A fellow must have completed a three-year Anesthesiology Residency in a duly accredited institution and must have passed at least the first part of Diplomate Exam (written exam) given by the Philippine Board of Anesthesiology.

  • 2 units modern anesthesia machine with different vaporizers
  • 1 unit Videolaryngoscope System with 3.5 in monitor display
  • 2 units Patient Controlled Analgesia Pump (PCA)
  • 2 units Infusion Machine Target Controlled
  • 2 units Patient Temperature Management Unit with Forced Air Warming Technology
  • 1 unit Patient Cardiac Monitor Multiparameter With Capnograph
  • 4 units Patient Cardiac Monitor
  • 2 units ECG machine
  • 1 unit cardiac defibrillator

The Philippine Children’s Medical Center is one of the government-owned and controlled corporate National Centers for Specialized Health Care under the Department of Health. It is a 200-bed capacity tertiary hospital with a mandate to provide pediatric care, offer training programs for medical and allied health care providers, and be a center in clinical research.
