PCMC has been named a Silver Awardee in the Anti-Red Tape Act RCS Award 2022
The Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) was recognized as a silver awardee at the recently conducted first-ever Anti-Red Tape Act RCS AWARD 2022 held at the Conrad Hotel on December 19, 2022.
Out of 50 government agencies that were part of the Report Card Survey (RCS) 2.0 Pilot Implementation, only five were given a very satisfactory rating, including PCMC.
During the event, ARTA Secretary and Director General Ernesto V. Perez personally handed to PCMC Executive Director, Dr. Sonia B. Gonzalez the plaque and big cheque amounting PhP 100,000.00 as incentive for providing quality service to the public.
Other PCMC officers who attended the awards ceremony were Department Manager for Administrative Services Ms. Emma A. Mariano, Division Head of HRMD and PCMC CART Chairperson Ms. Mary Grace E. Morales, PCMC CART Co-Chairperson Mr. Anthony Emmanuel T. Garcia, and other members of the PCMC Committee on Anti-Red Tape.

PCMC bags two international bronze awards at the International Hospital Federation Awards 2022.
The Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) received two international awards from the International Hospital Federation (IHF) on November 10, 2022, during the 45th IHF World Hospital Congress in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The PCMC Pediatric Hemodialysis Unit was awarded the bronze winner in the American College of Healthcare Executives Excellence Award for Leadership and Management Category for its program, "Tatag PCMC: Hemodialysis Unit COVID-19 Pandemic Response."
The Pediatric Blood Center was also declared a bronze winner in the Sultanate of Oman Excellence Award for Health Services During Crisis Category for its program, "Blood Bank Donation Innovations During the COVID-19 Pandemic."
The PCMC Pediatric Hemodialysis Unit and Pediatric Blood Center excelled among the 400 entries submitted from 35 countries/ territories for seven categories of the IHF Awards.
CSC recognizes PCMC for obtaining Maturity Level II Enhanced Prime-HRM
The Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) received a Certificate of Recognition from the Civil Service Commission for obtaining Maturity Level 2 under the Enhanced PRIME-HRM in the following Human Resource Management Systems: 1) Recruitment, Selection, and Placement; 2) Performance Management; and 3) Rewards and Recognition.
The certificate was personally awarded by CSC-BIR Field Office Director Dick N. Echavez and received by PCMC Executive Director Dr. Sonia B. Gonzalez last Monday (November 7, 2022) after the flag ceremony at the Sto. Niño Atrium of this medical center.
The recognition was a result of the joined efforts of the Management Committee, Human Resource Management Division, and other officials in promoting employees’ excellence in the hospital and providing the most responsive service for our vulnerable patients, particularly the children and high-risk pregnant women.
Dr. Sonia B. Gonzalez swears in as new PCMC Executive Director
Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco T. Duque III on Thursday officiated the oath-taking ceremony of Dr. Sonia B. Gonzalez as the new Executive Director of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center.
The ceremony was conducted virtually and was witnessed by her husband, Mr. Robert A. Gonzalez, members of the PCMC Management Committee, and colleagues from the Nephrology Section.
Prior to her new official designation, Dr. Gonzalez assumed the responsibility as the medical center’s officer-in-charge after former Executive Director, Dr. Julius A. Lecciones, retired last July 2021. And before that, she was the Deputy Executive Director for Medical Services since December 2018 and held other positions in her 25 years of continuous government service.
A graduate of the PCMC Residency and Fellowship Training Program, Director Gonzalez is the first alumna to hold the position of Executive Director since the medical center's inception.
