On July 1, 1987 the section of Pulmonology was established and from that time on, it continues to uplift the life of every afflicted child. Its primary mission is to be the premiere center of excellence for pulmonary specialty care in children guided by dynamic programs and equipped with state of the art technology for institutional growth and development. Guided with the excellent and self-motivated staff, innovations and improvement of the section’s services were done. On August 31, 1998 the Pediatric Pulmonology Rehabilitation Unit was inaugurated. On the following year the Pulmonary Diagnostic Laboratory and Rehabilitation Unit was established. From then onwards additional services were created to be enjoyed by every patient. The following are the current services offered by the section: Pulmonary function test (Spirometry, Exercise Challenge Test, and Rint), Flexible nasopharyngoscopy, Flexible bronchoscopy , and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

1989 - First graduate of the Fellowship Program: Cristan Q. Cabanilla, MD
March 19, 1992 - PAPP, Inc. was founded at PCMC under the leadership of Dr. Estrella P. de Leon
August 31, 1998 - Inauguration Pediatric Pulmonary Rehabilitation Unit
